How to find your iphone version go to > Settings - General - About, along with the Firmware version

Before to do that, Please backup all Data or information whatever you need from the iphone before bring in for service

For any one who updated the iphone iOS to 4.3.5 and would like to get it unlock. the you much get the iphone 3gs downgrade to iOS 4.1 before you can do the unlock & Jailbreak for your iPhone 3Gs.
